- I sell Angus steers in whole and 1/2 portions includes any organs if you want them. They are sold, live weight, by the pound (1000 to 1200 pounds). I arrange ranch slaughtering and deliver of the carcass to the butcher shop. Once at the butcher shop, you will speak to the butcher and discuss cutting and packaging instructions. The butchering fee Is based on the hanging weight of the carcass received at the butcher shop. . When you pick up you finished meat from the butcher shop you will pay the shop for the butchering. Your total cost for the animal, slaughtering and butchering should be approximately $8.50 to $9.00 pound for the finished meat that you receive.
