- We are your local source for pasture raised Angus beef in the Pineywoods of East Texas. We use a USDA inspected processor that will cut your beef to your specifications. We sell our beef by the quarter, half, and whole. Hanging weight is the weight of a "dressed" animal. Dressed means the hide and organs have been removed but all bones and other unusable parts are still intact. The hanging weight is usually around 60% of live weight. So a 1000 lb steer would have a hanging weight of about 600 lbs. The amount of frozen packaged meat is about 67% of hanging weight. This means that a 1000 lb steer would yield about 400 pounds of meat to go in your freezer. Contact us for pricing.
