Description of Available Products
Here is some info to help. If you have never ordered this way before it can be intimidating so please ask anything you think of and you can also call me, 515-979-5445. I will have grassfed beef ready every month from July to December, 1st available as of today is September. Just let me know for sure the quantity and month you want to be on and I will make sure you have some reserved. Ballpark on 1/4 will be ~$500 for the meat and ~$150 for the processing, double those estimates for 1/2, times 4 for a whole, that is based on ~150 lb hanging weight. Keep in mind this is the carcass on the rail. The amount of actual meat you put in the freezer will depend on your specifications but is usually around 55-65% of the hanging weight. Exact costs adjusted to specific hanging weight. You will be able to make all the processing specifications through the locker directly and all of our 1/4s are actually 1/2 of a 1/2 so you get from the front and the back, so no limit on cuts. I can supply hamburger in the meantime as well, $5.50/lb. Processing on a 1/4 can always vary. It's not a cookie cutter thing so these are averages of what you will get in a 1/4. You can expect somewhere in the ballpark of a rump and a heel roast, a couple arm roasts, and about 7 or so chuck roasts. These will vary depending on how big you want them cut, maybe you want them ground instead, or can vary on each cow. For steaks you are looking at about 4-6 ribeyes, same for t-bones, same for sirloins, a package of tenderloins, about 8 or so round steaks. Again, this is just a ballpark, theses can vary based on how thick you want them cut, how many per package, and also if you would rather ground something vs. keep it a steak. You may also get a brisket and a package or short ribs, or these can be ground. For hamburger you are looking at about 40 or so lbs of hamburger on average, again depending on if you decide to grind anything from above. I will also send a cut sheet the locker goes through as well. I will have more non-GMO grassfed next Spring and I am taking reservations on those now as well. The price is the same as grassfed, however, the finished weight ends up being closer to 200 lbs per 1/4 vs approximately 150 lbs for grassfed. Once the meat goes into the locker it take about 3 weeks for it to be ready for pickup. I will get the weight from the locker and let you know the payment options and exact total. You will then call the locker to go through processing instructions, send payment to the farm for the meat, and then once it is ready and payment is received you will pickup from the locker and pay them directly for the processing costs. Let me know if you would like to go ahead and reserve or if this sparks any further questions.
